"My name is Joan Nancy Stokes.
I also have blackfellow name or tribal name - Wir innbe ngali.
My skin group is Nambajimba.
I am from Warrmungu Tribe.
I have five girls in my family.

These are my paintings that I would like you to see in the Gallery. There are a variety of paintings because they are about my life as well as that of my parents and grandparents.

I have this spiritual belief that I can paint about the things that nobody knows, the richness in my culture, believe me, you will be touched.

I am very proud and happy about it all."
